hhhins: download Instagram videos in original quality
There are plenty of Instagram downloaders out there. Some are slow, some bury the download behind three pages of ads, and some quietly shrink your video. We built hhhins because we wanted the boring version: paste the link, see every quality with its file size, tap once, done.
hhhins is a free online Instagram video downloader. It saves any public Instagram video or reel in the original quality as a normal MP4 file, the same resolution the creator uploaded. It runs in the browser on iPhone, Android, PC and Mac — there is nothing to install and no account to create.
The download starts the moment you tap the button. There's no waiting page and no countdown. If the post is a photo or a carousel instead of a video, use the photo downloader — same flow, images instead.
Why use an Instagram video downloader?
Instagram doesn't give you a Save button for other people's videos, and even your own reels can only be re-saved with the app's tools. A downloader like hhhins is useful in everyday situations:
Watching offline — save a video before a flight or for somewhere with bad signal. Keeping favorites — posts get deleted or set to private all the time; a saved copy stays. Reposting your own content — download your reel and share it to TikTok, YouTube Shorts or Facebook. Editing — a clean MP4 imports into CapCut, Premiere or any editor. Backups — if you ever lose access to your account, your videos are safe on your own device.
How to download an Instagram video on iPhone
iPhones are the fiddly case for every downloader, because Safari doesn't drop videos straight into the gallery. It still takes under a minute:
- In the Instagram app, open the video and tap ••• → Copy Link.
- Open hhhins.com in Safari and tap Paste — the video is detected automatically.
- Tap Download. When Safari asks, choose Save to Files → Downloads.
- Open the Files app, tap the video, then Share → Save Video. It's now in Photos.
How to download an Instagram video on Android or PC
On Android everything is direct — the MP4 lands in your Downloads folder and shows up in the gallery. Copy the link in the Instagram app (••• → Copy Link), open hhhins in Chrome or any browser, tap Paste, and pick a quality.
On a computer you don't even need the app. Watch the post on instagram.com, copy the URL from the address bar, paste it into the box at the top of this page and press Enter. Pick a quality and the MP4 goes to your Downloads folder. This works the same on Windows, macOS and Linux, in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
What quality do you get?
Format: MP4, plays everywhere. Quality: original, as uploaded — hhhins lists every resolution Instagram has for that video, each with its exact file size, so you can pick the biggest for editing or a smaller one on a slow connection. Watermark: none added. Cost: free, no limits.
Instagram compresses uploads on its side, so the maximum quality is whatever the creator's file became after upload — no downloader can beat that. What hhhins guarantees is that you get that best available version, untouched.
Frequently asked questions
How do I copy an Instagram video link?
Open the video in the Instagram app, tap the ••• menu above the post (or the paper-plane share icon), and tap Copy Link. On a computer, just copy the URL from the address bar — it looks like instagram.com/p/XXXXXXXX/ or instagram.com/reel/XXXXXXXX/.
Where is the video saved after I download it?
In your browser's normal download location. On Android and PC that's the Downloads folder. On iPhone, Safari saves to the Files app, and from there you can move the video into Photos.
Why isn't the download working for my link?
Almost always the link is incomplete, or the post is from a private account or was deleted. Copy the link again from the ••• → Copy Link menu and retry. Note that hhhins fetches the video on its own servers, so it still works even when Instagram is blocked on your school or office network.
Can I download videos from private accounts?
No. Only public posts can be downloaded. If an account is private, its videos are not accessible to any downloader — you would need to be an approved follower and save inside the app.
Do I need an account or the app?
No. hhhins never asks you to sign in, and you should never type your Instagram password into any downloader site. Everything works in the browser.
Is there a limit on how many videos I can save?
No limit. Download as many public Instagram videos as you like, all free.
Do you keep the videos I download?
No. The file streams straight from Instagram to your device and is never stored on our side. We also don't keep a record of the links you paste.
What's the difference between a reel and a video here?
Nothing on your end — paste either kind of link. Reels just live at instagram.com/reel/…; if you mostly save reels, the Reels downloader page is the same tool tuned for them.
Can I get just the sound from a video?
Instagram doesn't provide a separate audio file the way some platforms do, so hhhins saves the full video. If you only need the audio, download the MP4 file and extract the sound in any free editor.
