Save Instagram reels the simple way

Reels are the most-saved thing on Instagram, and also the most annoying to keep — the app has no download button for reels you didn't make. hhhins fixes that: paste the reel link, tap once, and the MP4 is yours in original quality.

It's free, runs in any browser, and needs no app or account. The reels downloader is the same engine as the main video downloader, pointed at reel links so the flow feels right for them.

Why download reels?

Creators download their own reels to repost them on TikTok and YouTube Shorts without re-recording. Editors pull reels into CapCut or Premiere as reference or B-roll. And plenty of people just want to keep a funny or useful reel that might get deleted next week.

Whatever the reason, a clean MP4 beats a screen recording every time — no status bar, no dropped frames, full resolution.

How to download a reel, step by step

The flow is the same on every device:

  1. In Instagram, open the reel and tap the share icon (paper plane) → Copy Link. On desktop, copy the URL from the address bar.
  2. Open hhhins and tap Paste — the reel is detected automatically.
  3. Tap Download. On a phone, choose Save to Files (iPhone) or let it go to Downloads (Android).

Reels, stories and posts — what's the difference?

Reels are the vertical, full-screen videos at instagram.com/reel/…. Regular feed videos and carousels live at instagram.com/p/…, and disappearing stories are separate again. hhhins handles all of them — use this page for reels, the story downloader for stories, and the photo downloader for image posts. If you're not sure what a link is, just paste it on the home page and hhhins figures it out.

Frequently asked questions

How do I download an Instagram reel?

Open the reel, tap the paper-plane share icon or the ••• menu, and tap Copy Link. Paste it into the box above and tap Download. The reel saves as a normal MP4.

Does the reel keep a watermark?

hhhins doesn't add anything. If the creator burned a username or a TikTok logo into the video itself, that's part of the frames and can't be removed by any downloader — but hhhins never stamps its own watermark on your file.

Can I download reels on my iPhone?

Yes. Copy the reel link in the app, paste it here in Safari, tap Download, then choose Save to Files. Open the Files app and use Share → Save Video to move it into Photos.

Can I download someone else's reel?

Any public reel, yes. Reels from private accounts can't be accessed by a downloader. Please only re-use other people's content with credit and permission.

Why does my reel link fail?

Usually the link wasn't copied fully, or the reel was removed or made private. Copy it again from the share menu and retry. A reel that plays for you when logged out will download here.

Is there a download limit?

No. Save as many public reels as you want, free.

What resolution are the reels?

The original that Instagram serves — commonly up to 1080p tall. Every available quality is listed with its file size before you download so you can choose.

Can I download a reel as audio only?

Instagram doesn't expose reel audio as a separate file, so hhhins saves the full reel. To keep just the sound, save the MP4 and extract the audio in a free editor.
